A Great Tombstone for My Friend

A Great Tombstone for My Friend

I wanted to find a reputable monuments dealer in Essex County NJ to help me with a tombstone I wanted for my best friend. His parents paid for the funeral, but they couldn’t bring themselves to do the tombstone because of how personal it was. They were experiencing so much grief, and I wanted to help them. I asked them if I could help out with that, and I promised them that I would show them the final design before having it made. It was hard for me to do this too, but I wanted to show honor to the best friend I have ever had.

I knew that helping his parents would be exactly what he would want me to do, and I wanted to do it anyway because they are like a second set of parents to me too. Read the rest of this entry

Geese Were Taking over My Parking Garage

Geese Were Taking over My Parking Garage

I never would have thought that geese would be a problem in a parking garage. I have used my fair share of them in different parts of the country, but I had never seen anything like it at the parking garage for the company I had purchased in New Jersey about a year ago. The first thing I had to do was identify the kind of birds that were causing the chaos, and then I had to find a company that does Canada geese control in NJ once I realized what kind of bird it is. I Got a Summer Job

I Got a Summer Job

Of course it is not the most awesome job ever and I am not really sure what the child protective services would think, although I am already six foot three inches tall and over two hundred pounds, so I am not really a child even though the child labor laws still apply to me. I have been working with a guy who works for a Queens tree service, but he was not on the clock when he was working with me. Instead he would do the same stuff off of the clock. My job is mostly to stay out of the way and not get killed by heavy chunks of wood falling out of a tree. That is obviously not a thing that you would want to happen, but also when you have a nice yard you do not want a big chunk of wood to fall upon and make a big divot. Read the rest of this entry

Weather is Wreaking Havoc on Our Trees

Weather is Wreaking Havoc on Our Trees

This winter is the craziest I have ever seen. I have seen deep snow and warm winters. I have been out working the midnight shift outdoors when the weather people have been reporting that no person or animal should be outside because it was so cold. This year is the craziest. We had warm weather, rain and winds in February. I have called out a Long Island tree company that we use to trim the trees on our commercial property to remove a fallen tree after a summer thunderstorm, but never this early in the year before.

Guys were out there in tee shirts in what should have been frigid weather cutting up a couple of trees that went down during a storm. It felt like a summer day it was so warm. I never have seen it like this before. I remember one year it was Christmas day and in the 70s, but the trend is now where it stays warm. That warm holiday was just a fluke of weather. This seems to be more in line with the changes that are happening in our climate. Read the rest of this entry

Austin Dillon wins at Eldora in first NASCAR dirt race in 43 years

Austin Dillon wins at Eldora in first NASCAR dirt race in 43 years

The Camping World Truck Series’ debut on dirt went from novelty to mainstay in the span of three hours Wednesday night at Eldora Speedway, as Austin Dillon scored the first NASCAR national series win on a dirt track in 43 years.

If you watched and weren’t entertained, I don’t know what to tell you.

“This is real racing right here, this is all I’ve got to say,” Dillon said in victory lane after beating Kyle Larson to the finish line in a green-white-checker sprint.

The thing is, that wasn’t just the joy in Dillon coming out after he reached victory lane. The excitement of being at Tony Stewart’s track was palpable and authentic. Drivers and team members exclaimed throughout the evening about the race, and heck, not even a discouraging word was said by the NASCAR social media chamber, a notoriously finicky segment.

A big reason for that excitement? The racing.

Yes, it was different. But it wasn’t just the difference in styles in how a driver attacks a half-mile dirt track versus a 1.5 mile asphalt track that made Wednesday night mesmerizing. It was multiple grooves, the throttle management and a genuine sense that the race was ultimately going to be decided by the drivers and their trucks, not by clean air. (Which can be a bit of an oxymoron at a dirt track anyway.) Throw in a big helping of nostalgia — many NASCAR drivers grew up racing local dirt tracks — and it’s hard not to consider the night a rousing success.

Need proof of how that all came together? Look no further than the battle between Norm Benningand Clay Greenfield in the Last Chance Qualifier race to get into the 150 lap main event. Instead of relying only on single truck qualifying to set the field for the race, NASCAR used heat races and a subsequent last-chance race to whittle the 35 trucks attempting the race to the 30 trucks that would start the race.

With two laps left in the Last Chance race, Benning was holding onto the final transfer spot into the main race in fifth place. Greenfield was right behind him, both drivers in trucks they own and prepare themselves, a far cry from the multi-million dollar operations in the Sprint Cup Series.

Greenfield leaned on Benning’s bumper as the two approached the white flag. Benning got loose, but stayed in the throttle and held the position. As they came through turns three and four again,Greenfield got to the inside of Benning and slid up into him, forcing Benning’s truck into the wall. Sparks flew, but Benning stayed in the gas once again, nipping Greenfield at the line for that last place starting position.

And when Benning got back to the garage? Members from seemingly every team were waiting for him to get out of his truck to congratulate him.

Did NASCAR take a gamble by staging a type of race not run for nearly half a century at an 18,000 seat facility owned by a Sprint Cup Series champion? Probably. Did it pay off? Absolutely. Instead of the question being “Does the Truck Series return next year?” it’s now “When can the Nationwide and Cup Series do this?”

The Reason Why You Have To Train Your Dog

The Reason Why You Have To Train Your Dog

Having your dog that misbehaves can be embarrassing. You don’t wish to take him in public and, worse yet, you’re afraid he may harm someone or enter harms way himself. Therefore, training your dog is a crucial aspect of dog ownership.ip.

At the very least, you must train your pet to obey the “sit” and “come” commands. This way it is possible to manage an unruly dog in most any social situation. More importantly, you can call your pet back you may notice he is heading into a dangerous situation.

Let us accept it, having a dog that doesn’t obey you can really harm your relationship with your dog. You most likely adopted a dog so you might have a companion you can bring with you to most places and when your dog runs wild and doesn’t listen to you, it’s easy to find that nobody wants him around. The result is that you spend less and less time with your dog as well as your bond becomes weaker and weaker.

A well behaved dog, however, is a treat for everybody – especially the owner. You will find that your family and friends welcome your pet as well as request that you bring him over. This is really what having a dog is about – being able to bring your furry closest friend along with you and seem like he’s wanted.

When training your pet, you need to start with the basics and make sure he has those down pat before moving on to tougher commands. If your dog has trouble spots like excessive barking or jumping up on people, then try working on those as they can be particularly annoying.

Perhaps the most important command to teach your dog is “site”. That’s because it causes your pet to become stationary and can stop him from running around and causing (or heading towards) trouble. It’s also a command that your pet have to master before he learns other commands. That’s because “sit” is the position he or she must be in at this start of many other command for example lay down. Sort of like a pre-requisite course in school that you have to take before you take a heightened course!

With regards to training, patience is essential, but if you have a dog or are thinking about adopting one, then you should think about training as essential for dog ownership. In the end, you want your dog safe and secure, don’t you? Training him in your thoughts is critical for the pets safety.

Training your dog doesn’t need to be a “chore”. Instead, consider it a bonding experience. Set aside time every day for training and you’ll soon find that you as well as your dog come to a different understanding and a deeper, more satisfying relationship.

Local Train Transport In Mumbai

Local Train Transport In Mumbai

Mumbai is the capital of Maharashtra, an Indian state. It is the most populous city in India and it is home to Bollywood. Mumbai is located on the west coast and it is the combination of seven islands.

There are various Public Transportation available in Mumbai. Some of them are:
Local trains
Buses
Auto Rickshaws
Taxi’s

The local trains in Mumbai are divided into three zones – Western line, Central / Main line and the Harbour line. The western line originates from Churchgate and goes upto Virar. The central line originates at Chatrapathi Shivaji Terminus (also known as VT / CST station) and goes upto either Karjat or Kasara. The harbour line also originates at CST, and takes a detour at Wadala and goes upto Andheri on the Western line.

The rakes of the Mumbai suburban network have a maximum speed of 85 km per hour, but the drivers are given strict instructions to follow speed limits while entering or exiting a railway station. There have been lot of accidents of people trying to cross the railway tracks and now keeping this in mind, the Government is coming up with various programs to educate the people about the risk of crossing Railway tracks.

Out of all the public transport systems available in Mumbai, the local trains are used by the most people. The local trains carry around 7 million commuters on a daily basis. Earlier, all the local trains had 9 coaches, but due to the increase in usage, some of them were made into 12 coach trains. Now most of the local trains are 12 coaches leaving some, and there is demand for 15 coach trains, but that is a hurdle since all railway platforms cant accomodate 15 coach trains, so the main stations are being transformed to accomodate 15 coach trains.

If you’re visiting Mumbai for the first time, it is advisable NOT to board a Virar fast from Churchgate station, because when you board the train, it might be empty but slowly it fills up so much that it is impossible for a new person to get off the train. Most people travel in groups on this route, and bully new people who wish to either get off at Bandra or Andheri station.

Mumbai, as they say is a city that never sleeps but the local trains do not function between 2am and 4am. The frequency at all times is great and you will never have to wait for your train for more than 3 minutes during peak hours.

American Pit Bull Terrier Training How To Train An Aggressive Dog

American Pit Bull Terrier Training How To Train An Aggressive Dog

Aggressive Pit Bulls can become a very serious problem if not dealt with in a proper manner. New laws exist that state if a dog bites or attacks someone, the dogs owner will be held responsible and the dog put down. This is just another reason that Pit Bull owners should invest the time and energy to properly train their dogs.

There are many different reasons why a Pit Bull terrier may become aggressive. Here are a couple of the most common that I see:

– Your dog may feel that his territory is being invaded
– Your dog may feel threatened

When a dog exhibits signs of aggression, they usually come from a lack of confidence and feelings of insecurity. Basic obedience training won’t solve your Pit Bulls problem with aggressive behavior, the only solution is serious dog training. Keep in mind that an aggressive dog doesn’t just bite, he barks and lunges at people as well and he could also attack another pet.

I would strongly recommend seeking the services of a professional dog trainer if you’re having a real problem with aggression. Training an aggressive dog is a challenge and can prove to be expensive, but it is a small price to pay when you consider you’ll be saving your Pit’s life and possibly the life of some other animal or individual. To find a professional trainer who handles cases of aggression, contact your local veterinarian and ask for referrals.

Be sure that you do your homework and thoroughly investigate the schools which are recommended. Look at their facilities and learn what methods they use when training dogs. The last thing you want is for your Pit Bull to exhibit worse behavior after going through training school than when he first entered.

I applaud your decision to be a responsible Pit Bull terrier owner and have your dog trained. An aggressive Pit can halter the relationship that you have with him, hurt other people, hurt other animals, and give this fabulous breed a bad reputation. After it is all said and done, I’m certain you’ll agree that having your Pit Bull trained was a fantastic decision!
