I never would have thought that geese would be a problem in a parking garage. I have used my fair share of them in different parts of the country, but I had never seen anything like it at the parking garage for the company I had purchased in New Jersey about a year ago. The first thing I had to do was identify the kind of birds that were causing the chaos, and then I had to find a company that does Canada geese control in NJ once I realized what kind of bird it is.
I guess I had never been this close to the Great Lakes, which is the main reason why these birds are so prevalent here. It does not help that the property is real close to marsh lands. The parking garage is four stories, and it proved to be a good place for the geese to roost because of the beams. I honestly would not have minded if they were not so messy and also not as aggressive as they can be. Thankfully, no one had been hurt by any of the geese, but I still wanted them gone.
The company that I hired came out and took a look at the property. They then told me the different ways we could go about this. The one I liked best was the netting option. This was the best method because of how many there are. They used the nets in conjunction with bird wires, and that proved to be a winning combination. It did not take long at all for the birds to get frustrated because they could not balance properly on the beams, and they took off for another area. The parking garage looks and smells better, and that is all that matters to me about it.
